Rakuten Referrals
I’m starting off with the least time-consuming and most basic option. Now I usually shy away from referral programs, but I actually love and use Rakuten all the time and have saved hundreds just by having the Chrome extension. To start earning from Rakuten, join and create a referral code and every time someone uses it on their first purchase of at least $25, they will make $10 and you will make $25.
Here is my referral link: Use it and create your own to start earning.
What It Is: Rakuten is a money-saver’s dream. It’s essentially a coupon site where you can earn cash back from 1,000s of retailers, like Sephora, Lululemon, Macy’s, Amazon, and Nike, to name a few. Simply plug in the a Chrome browser extension and it will tell you if the site you’re on is offering cash back.
Start A Blog
Yes a website is a lot of work, but it can make you serious money. I know many bloggers who’ve made their blogs their main source of income. (Anyone who tells you blogging is done doesn’t know how lucrative it is.) With that said, don’t start a website with the sole intention of making money. Do it because you have something to share with the world. The first step to do this is to start a self-hosted WordPress site and use Bluehost to host it. Bluehost is one of the best hosting sites and what you’ll need to get your website up and running.
Drive Traffic To Your Site To Earn Money
Now to make your blog lucrative, you’ll need to drive traffic.
It definitely will not happen overnight, but by creating content and leveraging platforms (especially Pinterest) you can generate income from your own website. It will take work and determination, but if you have something you are interested in sharing, do it. And start today. Why? Because the sooner you start, the sooner you can grow your site. One of the easiest ways to do this is through social media. Pinterest is especially lucrative for me because the content that’s shared on Pinterest doesn’t just fade away from your followers’ feeds after a day or two (like on Facebook and Instagram). In fact, Pinterest is much more like Google because the user is searching for content. Facebook and Instagram are passive, but on Pinterest, the user is actually looking for content to click. And if you provide something worthwhile, they’ll head to your site. This means you will be able to leverage it for scalable and long-term site traffic. I have learned how to generate millions of Pinterest views a month. I decided to put my strategies into a short detailed course so you can learn how to leverage it as well (shameless plug, but I’m pretty passionate about Pinterest and have a true understanding of the platform). The majority of my site traffic is from Pinterest and I do not use Tailwind or Boardbooster. I have worked in social media professionally since 2012 and know what works. I also know the power of Facebook ads, but the beauty of Pinterest is that you can grow for free. This is because the Pinterest algorithm is much more inclusive and you will find that it drives organic traffic to your site on a much more regular basis than the average Facebook post will.
Ad Networks
Once your site starts to generate traffic, you can apply to programs like Mediavine, which I am a part of (see the ads on my site) and start to generate income from these ads.

Affiliate Links
Another way to earn money blogging is through affiliate links. Retailers and affiliate platforms like Amazon and RewardStyle are just a few that pay affiliates commissions on the sales they drive to retailers.
Sponsored Posts
Bloggers and influencers also earn money through sponsored posts. These are often product recommendations or reviews that are being recommended to a blogger’s audience. There are a variety of networks that offer sponsored opportunities:
How much should you charge for a sponsored post?
The sites above will likely connect you with a campaign that already has a set rate, but if you’re determining the rate on your own, for a blog post, the standard is $50 per 500 words, plus you’ll want to account for photography and other expenses that come with content creation.
