Well, we are all avoiding crowds, but there’s no reason that this time has to be boring. Take advantage of the now, reconnect with yourself and your passions, and learn something new.
Learn A New Language
Always wanted to learn a new language? Start this weekend. Apps like Duolingo make it easy and fun. I have been learning French on Duolingo for the past 10 months and love how simple and rewarding the app is.
Tour A Museum
Get cultured without leaving the house. Google Arts and Culture gives us an opportunity to explore over 500 galleries and museums. From Musée d’Orsay to The MET to The Palace of Versailles Hall of Mirrors, these beautiful locations can all be virtually explored.
Tour The Streets Of The World
Again thanks to Google, Street View takes us through the incredible world we live in. The Arts and Culture page has featured a variety of locations to explore, from Champs-Élysées to Yellowstone. The world is truly at your fingertips with Google Street View.
Pursue A Passion With MasterClass
Learn from the best of the best.
Do Yoga
Yoga is so good for the mind and body. I love the Glo app, but you can also go on YouTube. Here’s a Vinyasa flow from lululemon.
Organize Your Life
Now’s the time to tackle the junk drawer, people. 🙂 Organize your kitchen, clothes, toiletries, or digital docs. Make spreadsheets, delete old folders, plan new goals, get things done. No excuses.
Get Outside Or Go For A Scenic Drive
Avoiding crowds doesn’t entail avoiding nature. Go to the beach, the mountains, a hike, or take a walk around your neighborhood. Or go for a drive and explore other parts of your city from the comfort of your car.
Get Crafty In The Kitchen
Pick a recipe from your Pinterest board and get cookin.
Play Games
Buy a few games from Amazon. What Do You Meme, New Phone Who Dis and So…Cards: A Collection of Questions for Deeper Discussions are a few new ones to try.
Try A New Streaming Service
In the past year, Disney+ and Apple TV have joined the ranks and “The Morning Show” (Apple TV) is awesome. A few other shows I’ve been watching are Curb Your Enthusiasm, season 10 (HBO), Explained (Nexflix), and Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee (Netflix). There is actually a recent episode of Explained that explains pandemics. Bill Gates weighs in. The episode is timely and informative, and only 20 minutes. Watch it!
Find Some New Accounts To Follow OR Start Your Own
There are so many amazing content producers out there. Mrs. Dow Jones (hilarious finance account), Casey Neistat (inspiring, adventerous, energetic and extremely talented), Vogue’s YouTube, and James Corden (always makes me laugh), are just a few favs.
Learn A TikTok Dance
If you have a teenager or are up on the latest social media trends, you know TikTok dances are the thing right now. A lot of the moves in these viral dances are pretty repetitive, so if you learn one, you can quickly learn more. All the kids are doing it.
