The Green Smoothie Recipe That Helped Get Rid Of My Cold
I have been fighting a cold for the past few days and want to share this vitamin C smoothie recipe I made today that really seemed to help get rid of mucus and clear my sinuses. It a simple smoothie recipe, but packs a punch and tastes refreshing. The key to making this a vitamin c smoothie recipe is to include a whole lemon and lime because they’re packed with vitamin C. If I had celery, cucumbers, a pear, and a green apple on hand, I would have added those as well. Apples dry mucus and alkaline the system. Cucumbers cleanse the kidneys. Celery cleanses the liver and lowers inflammation. Pears are healing. Use organic ingredients to avoid pesticides. Wash and chop the lemon and lime and leave the skins to maximize vitamins.
Below is the recipe. I love the Vitamix, but any high-speed blender will do.
Vitamin C smoothie recipe
- 1 chopped lime
- 1 chopped lemon
- 2 cups of power greens (kale, spinach)
- 1/2 cup of blueberries
- 1/2 cup of blackberries
- Orange juice (pour more or less to change the smoothie density)
- EmergenC packet (optional)
Avoid adding ice.
Blend until smooth.
