What Is Galentine’s Day?
If you are familiar with Parks and Rec, you’ll know that Galentine’s Day stems from Leslie Knope. Galentine’s Day is on February 13 and while it may not actually be on the official calendar, it’s the perfect excuse to celebrate friendship.
There are no rules to celebrating Galentine’s Day, but brunch is the easiest — just gather your gal pals and spend time celebrating friendships old and new. Mark your calendars for February 13th and get inspired below.
Create A Galentine’s-Themed Dessert Bar
I think pretty food bars are the key to a great party setup and better yet if they’re pink! Below are a few different ideas to get you inspired.
Definitely check out the rosé-covered chocolate strawberries recipe below and add it in for a memorable treat.
Rosé-covered chocolate strawberries recipe
To make:
- Wash strawberries in cold water.
- Soak strawberries in rosé. Refrigerate overnight, or for less time for less strength.
- Remove from fridge and place on parchment paper.
- Melt white chocolate melts and add in natural food coloring to create a variety of shades of pink.
- Add sprinkles and refrigerate.
Make A Mimosa or Rosé Bar
I love the idea of adding pink cotton candy or gummies to champagne!
Add In A Piñata
I saw this lipstick piñata that Studio DIY made and could not agree more — a piñata would make the party a bash for sure. 🙂 Learn how to make it here.
Use Balloons And Wall Decor To Add Height And Dimension
Balloons, streamers, and paper poms can be placed above the dessert bar, at the entry, outside the house, or serve as a backdrop for photos. This “love” balloon pack is a great deal and would be perfect for a Galentine’s party.

Charcuterie Is Key
The Perfect Charcuterie Board:
- A cheese board
- Cheese (use a variety of hard and soft cheeses, like gouda)
- Chocolate
- Grapes
- Strawberries
- Honey or jam in small jars
- Prosciutto
- Crackers
- Slices of French bread
- Cheese sticks
- Nuts
- Dried Fruit
- Olives
There are endless ways to create a tasty and beautiful charcuterie board. The easiest way is to start with the largest items, set them out in opposite areas, and continue adding in smaller items.
- First, place the largest items (usually cheese or grape bunches) as the anchors at opposite ends and of the board. Place between the middle and side of each area.
- Next, addd in jars to the opposite corners. Add the tallest item (i.e. cheese sticks) to the center.
- Build out from the jars with stacks of prosciutto, bread, or other medium-sized items.
- Finally, add in nuts, dried fruits, chocolate, or any other small items.
