How It Works And Why It’s Such A Big Sale
Most sales discount products that are on their way out of season or are low on stock. The Anniversary Sale is the ONLY major sale where brand new products are on sale. This is the best time to stock up on new styles for the upcoming fall season, before they’re at full price.
What You Need To Know
Shop early! Everything sells out so quickly. A lot of times, the best items sell out within the first day.
Last year, I had my eye on this Topshop Colorblock Cardigan and literally ended up hunting it down, calling multiple stores before I could find one. Looking back (and writing this) I realize how ridiculous that sounds, but hey, you gotta do what you gotta do! And what I should have done was just bought it right away. I would have saved lots of time.
If you’re a Nordstrom Cardholder, you get Early Access and can shop on July 12th. Otherwise, you’ll have to wait until July 20th to start. Prices go back to normal on August 6th. If you already shop at Nordstrom frequently and are not yet a cardholder, I would highly recommend it because you get Nordstrom Notes, including a $40 Nordstrom Note when you make a purchase on the day you’re approved. It’s part of my job to find the best pieces. I will do the research for you and will be shopping the sale on Thursday morning when it launches (send caffeine!), so check back here for a blog post with all of my favorite items early in the morning.
Personally I like to shop both in store and online. And since Nordstrom has shop online, pickup in store, I can just place orders on Thursday and go to the store and pick them up. It makes it so easy and efficient!
My #1 Tip
Of course I love the clothes, but my #1 tip is to buy BEAUTY PRODUCTS! They never go on sale, except during the Anniversary Sale. Many of the beauty items on the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale are cult favs. And like everything else, they sell out fast, so scoop up your favs before they’re gone.
My Favorite Purchases From Last Year
Boots, jackets, and beauty products always top my purchases. Here are a few favorites that I bought last year and am still using them all:
Charlotte Tilburry bronzer/blush palette (SO beautiful!! I use it every day and it’s the easiest to pack for all my trips.)
Jo Malone perfume set Jo Malone makes the best perfumes and this set is a great way to get 5 of them at once.
NARS Lipstick Pencils — The color payoff of these NARS lipstick pencils is unbeatable. Ever since I bought this set last year, I have kept the pencils in my suitcase, at my desk, and in my bag and I can’t tell you the number of times they’ve come to the rescue.
Diptyque Candle Set — Diptyque candles are amazing. My favorite is Roses and it’s going to be in this year’s Anniversary set.
Stuart Weitzman Booties — I wear this ALL the time and am looking forward to buying something similar this year.
