Nordstrom and Nike, two of my favorite brands, joined forces today, launching a traveling sneaker boutique concept shop at the Nordstrom Flagship store in downtown Seattle.
The collaboration between these two Pacific Northwest companies emphasizes the increasingly popular intersection between fashion and sport, geared towards the fashion-forward female who maintains a casual and approachable aesthetic. The launch, lead by Olivia Kim – VP of Creative Projects for Nordstrom – and the Nordstrom Creative Projects team, was headlined by an exclusive sneaker: the Nike Air Max 90 “Nordstrom Seattle.” Not only were these shoes exclusively released in Seattle, but only 50 pairs were made, making them all the more sought-after.
The shoes donned the cutest laser-etched designs representative of Seattle, including the Space Needle, a “206” (area code), salmon, emeralds, and even Sasquatch! Iridescent paneling, gold aglets, and “Seattle” plating completed the design.
Each pair came in a neon pink and volt yellow translucent box. To top off the uniqueness, a Polaroid snap of each pair was taken upon checkout and placed in the box for the customer, completing the entire experience.
The boutique also featured a variety of on-trend products, from additional Nike shoes (featured in the reel below), to designer handbags, apparel, and accessories.
Previous to Seattle, the boutique initially launched in Nordstrom’s newest location in Toronto. What’s next? It will head to Chicago on November 15th, with rumors of future stops in Vancouver and San Francisco.
