2016 has been a year for the books and as New Year’s approached, I had been thinking of what I wanted to write for this year-end post for weeks. But with Christmas, my birthday, and a series of weekends filled with parties and gatherings, the month slipped by faster than I could say “Cheers to 2017!”
Over the past few weeks, the sentiment towards 2016 has been resoundingly negative.
While certain events definitely dampened the year, I don’t look at the past 364 days so negatively. I am thankful for what I have, what I was able to accomplish, and at basis, to be alive and healthy. I am really proud of who I am and what I have achieved. I have realized how much I value spending time wisely and am thankful that my boyfriend has the exact same mindset. Together, we push each other to achieve and have spent the majority of our time this year actively working towards our goals. I am thankful to live close to family and spend time with them as often as possible. My mom and I are best friends and I value every minute I spend with her, my dad, and brother. My parents are the kindest and most considerate people I know and are the most incredible role models for my brother and I. My brother graduated from UW with two degrees: one in Computer Science and another from the Foster School of Business. These two schools are the hardest to get into at UW and he got degrees from both. To say we’re proud of him is an understatement.
I am grateful for my career, to live close to my office, and to work with an amazing and supportive group of people.
On the blog front, through Fashion to Follow, I’ve been able to meet incredible people and have had the opportunity to collaborate with some amazing brands! I always find myself feeling so accomplished when hitting that publish button and even more excited when seeing traffic spike. My most popular post this year was a First Apartment Guide which you can find here. Below are a few favorite blog snaps from the past year. If you haven’t noticed, I share most of my photos on Instagram, so be sure to connect over there if you haven’t yet!
Wishing you all a happy and healthy 2017!
